Strings are the stars of this concert! Jessie Montgomery's Strum draws on Appalachian fiddle traditions, and NCS Principal Double Bass Leonid Finkelshteyn performs a Double Bass Concerto written for him by Terry Mizesko, composer of Sketches from Pinehurst. The program closes with Tchaikovsky's tender and lyrical Serenade for Strings.
