Visit Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Aberdeen serves as Moore County’s official tourism development authority, focused on promoting the area, supporting tourism-related businesses, and welcoming visitors.
The organization works to strengthen Moore County’s tourism brand with the ultimate goal of boosting the local economy while enhancing the quality of life for both residents and guests.
In 2024, Moore County ranked as the 10th largest tourism economy in North Carolina, bringing in $860 million in visitor spending!
Tourism plays a big role in our local economy, employing over 6,000 people in the hospitality industry, making it the county’s second-largest employment sector. It also brings major tax savings — tourism helped save each Moore County resident $546.46 in taxes, compared to the state average of $241. In total, visitor spending generated $28.1 million in local tax revenue and $32.2 million in state tax revenue.
