The Country Bookshop is located in the heart of downtown Southern Pines, North Carolina. We are known for small-town atmosphere, and a friendly, knowledgeable staff. We are the avid readers’ paradise; we carry a large selection of classics, bestsellers, and every genre under the sun. New books arrive daily! You’ll also find unique gifts, cards, and knick-knacks. There’s so much to discover- come see us to explore the joy shopping local!
We are unique in that we are owned by the award winning twice weekly Pilot Newspaper.
We also engage with the community to promote the love of reading! The Country Bookshop hosts weekly storytime for little ones, author events, and visit with students at Moore County Public Schools. The Country Bookshop has been around since 1953. The bookshop is here serving our community because you continue to shop with us.
