Tourism-related events in Moore County, as well as select events outside the county (at the discretion of the Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Aberdeen Area CVB), may be listed for free in the Calendar of Events. Only events deemed by the CVB to be of interest to visitors to Moore County will be included. The CVB reserves the right to determine eligibility for inclusion on HomeofGolf.com, prioritizing events likely to generate overnight lodging stays. The website is not intended to function as a community calendar for events primarily geared toward local residents.

”Q”-School Grilling Class

August 30 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Pinehurst BBQ Festival Logo

Pinehurst has played host to many a “Q School” in its day, but none quite like this. From 11:00am-1:00pm, Q School Grilling Class at the Pinehurst Arboretum – under covered seating! – will offer ticket holders the opportunity to experience cooking and grilling demonstrations with a range of meats on a variety of grills, led by Christopher Prieto of Prime Barbecue in Knightdale. Sampling will be provided following the class. A cash bar will be available.

Please note: Children Under 12 are not allowed at this event. Children ages 12-17 must be accompanied by a responsible ticketed adult.

The fifth annual Pinehurst Barbecue Festival is a Celebration of Taste and Tradition, featuring award-winning Pitmaster Christopher Prieto along with many of North Carolina’s celebrated pitmasters in one of the most picturesque settings in the state.

Presented by US Foods, Carolina Co-Packing, Our State Magazine and Pinehurst Resort, the three-day festival – headlined by Prieto – is staged in the Village of Pinehurst, offers a unique culinary experience of various mouthwatering barbecue meats and traditional sides.
