Only events deemed by the CVB to be of interest to visitors to Moore County will be included. The CVB reserves the right to determine eligibility for inclusion on HomeofGolf.com, prioritizing events likely to generate overnight lodging stays. The website is not intended to function as a community calendar for events primarily geared toward local residents.

Tea in the Sandhills: How to Grow, Harvest and Brew

Join us for a unique presentation by John Bowman – all about tea!
Learn how to identify the many different teas there are today. We will discuss how all teas (green, white, oolong, yellow, black and pu-erh) come from the same tea bush – Camellia sinensis.
Because of our climate and well drained and acid soils, this evergreen shrub is ideally suited for growing here in the Sandhills.
You’ll learn the distinction between tea and herbal infusions, and see some examples of how tea is harvested and processed.
Finally we will examine techniques for brewing the very best tasting tea with an accompanying tea brewing guide to take home.
