First Wood Fired Pots of 2024 and a Children’s Book Signing! Jugtown Pottery
March 9th – 8:30-5:00
Jugtown Pottery is excited to host a book signing event for “What Can We See?”, a new children’s book by mother and son team Cynthia Monroe Albert and Jacob Monroe. Jacob’s story about viewing animals through binoculars from a school project several years ago is brought it to life with Cynthia’s beautiful illustrations of wildlife. Cynthia Monroe Albert, a native of Robbins, NC, worked at Jugtown Pottery from 1978-1987, becoming a skilled potter and decorator. She retired from Moore County Schools in 2016, where she was a much beloved art teacher. This fun day at Jugtown will coincide with new wood fired pots in the shop. We will be firing the Groundhog kiln and will have pitchers, mugs, bowls, animals, candlesticks and much more. The selection of pieces will include Frogskin, Weathered Bronze, Ash, and various copper glazes.
