Toptracer at Talamore
Talamore Resort Debuts New Toptracer Range
SOUTHERN PINES, NC (SEPTEMBER 15, 2022) – Autumn around the Village of Pinehurst area is the most popular time of year for a golf vacation. This fall, guests at Talamore Golf Resort in the “Home of American Golf” will be able to enjoy the resort’s new Toptracer Range. The Toptracer technology uses high-speed cameras, coupled with sophisticated computer algorithms, to provide instantaneous ball tracking information to guests using the range featured 10 hitting bays.
“There are so many different things you can do with it. You can play other courses, you can play Topgolf, you can do long drives, you can do closest to the pins,” said Talamore Golf Resort General Manager Matt Hausser. “We have so much repeat business, it’s nice for them to keep coming back and finding something else here. It’s great to provide our guests more things to do, so they can enjoy their time at Talamore.”
The Talamore Toptracer Range features the hitting bays, all with high-speed cameras, television monitors, technology and games. Casual seating is available.
“Mid South is going to have the mobile version of Toptracer,” Hausser said. “So, they’ll be able to download the app and be able to do pretty much the same thing on their phones. It’ll track your practice. You can go out there and see your shot shape and stuff like that — just a lot of cool features. It’s basically the stuff you see when you’re watching golf on TV, where it shows the shot, shaping the ball.”
In addition, the entire Talamore practice range has been upgraded and a new, 15,000-square-foot putting course is being installed between the driving range and the 10th tee boxes that also opened this fall. Guests can warm up or practice on the putting course while waiting for Toptracer, or simply settling some bets after their round.
Also new is the expanded outdoor deck at the Talamore clubhouse overlooking the 18th green. “We’ll have some nice furniture and fire pits out there and lights and a couple of TVs and just make it a cool spot for people to hang out post round or waiting to go over to Toptracer,” Hausser said. “It’s going to be just a neat thing for people to be able to do something else while they’re on property. Plus, it’s a very cool spot to sit and watch golfers finish.”
Last but not least, the resort installed 10 new EcoBunker sod wall bunkers earlier this year. EcoBunker Advanced is the strongest and most efficient method of constructing stacked sod walls using synthetic grass tiles and they will remind golfers of the legendary courses of the British Isles.
Visitors to the renowned Talamore Resort can stay and play two of the area’s finest courses, Talamore by Rees Jones and one of Arnold Palmer’s best at the Mid South Club, both located on Midland Road midway between the Pinehurst Resort and Mid Pines and Pine Needles. Talamore was recently ranked No. 2 in GolfAdvisor’s “Best Courses in North Carolina” while Mid South was close behind at No. 7 in the state.
Talamore Golf Resort packages offer access to other famed area courses including Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club, Mid Pines Inn & Golf Club, Tobacco Road Golf Club, Legacy Golf Links and many others. For information call (800) 552-6292 or visit www.TalamoreGolfResort.com.
