U.S. Open 2024
The 2024 U.S. Open will take place June 13-16, 2024 at Pinehurst Resort, the first U.S. Open anchor site. Historic Pinehurst No. 2 will play host to the championship for the fourth time and for the first time since 2014. With approximately 250,000 people expected to attend the event, or be in the Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Aberdeen area at some point during championship week, accommodations will be in high demand. We encourage everyone to book their accommodations as soon as possible, if they wish to stay in the Pinehurst area/Moore County. However, our hospitality friends throughout the Sandhills, the Piedmont and surrounding areas of North Carolina are prepared to welcome you as well. These resources are the best way to learn more about where to stay and play when attending the 2024 U.S. Open.

Amtrak from Raleigh
Enjoy a Smooth Ride to the Green from Raleigh to the 2024 U.S. Open Golf Championships at Pinehurst, NC
Planning to attend the 2024 USGA U.S Open this year? Skip the hassles of traffic and parking, take Amtrak to the championship at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club. Ride the Carolinian or Piedmont to Raleigh Union Station and transfer onto Amtrak’s special “Open Express” train.
This Open Express will run daily between Raleigh Union Station and the Pinehurst Clubhouse near the Pinehurst No. 2 golf course from June 13 – 16, when championship play is scheduled for the U.S. Open.
U.S. Open Trolley Shuttle
This ticket offer round trip transportation to the US Open from Whispering Pies. Park your vehicle, grab a beer and hop on the trolley for your VIP transportation. Our shuttle service can be used multiple times throughout the day if needed.
Premier drop-off location at the US Open: Exit the trolley, walk across the track, and enter Gate One. Due to traffic, there may be a 15-minute wait time. There is limited seating for 28 people per pick-up time. Pick-up will start every morning at Whispering Pies at 7:30 schedule of pick-up and return times will be emailed to ticket holders. Times may vary slightly due to traffic.
Taxi's, Car Service & More
Sleek Fleet luxury transportation services will be operating from Raleigh and local in the Pinehurst area.
Ride share services, passenger, taxi or limousine drop-offs will only be allowed at the designated area located off Midland Road (NC-2) near the traffic circle, which is a short walk to Gate 6. There is NO parking or staging for vehicles, so please coordinate pick-up times accordingly. Please follow directional signs and parking attendants to the appropriate pick-up and drop-off location.

1999 U.S. Open: A Look Back
A U.S. Open at Pinehurst seems old hat now. In about a year, the esteemed No. 2 course will be the venue for its fourth rendition of America’s national championship, following 1999 (won by Payne Stewart), 2005 (Michael Campbell) and 2014 (Martin Kaymer). And after the 2024 competition, there are four more on the docket through 2047 as the USGA has tabbed Pinehurst No. 2 as an “anchor site” for the Open.
