Pinehurst No. 7

Pinehurst No. 7

Located a mile away from the resort’s main clubhouse, No. 7 — renovated in 2002 — is one of the boldest and most dramatic golf courses at Pinehurst. Located on some of the most rugged terrain and landforms around the Village of Pinehurst, the course lends a mountainous feel to a course that literally backs up to the more-gentle movement of the world-famous Pinehurst No. 2.

A Rees Jones masterpiece, Course No. 7 uses landforms in equal parts to assist and challenge the golfer — down off many tees into the fairway, back up on a number of holes into the greens. Add the wetlands that dot the landscape-particularly on the short, par-4 7th hole — along with vast expanses of the sand, the “fingers” of bunkers on the 16th and the large, undulating greens — and No. 7 is sure to leave you visually stimulated on each and every shot.

In 1992, a young Tiger Woods claimed his only Pinehurst title to date along this dramatic course designed by Rees Jones. Unfolding over uneven terrain that dips in spots into wetlands, every hole on No. 7 will test a golfer’s skills — whether they’re a budding superstar or just out for a weekend of fun.

No. 7 showcases wide fairways, expansive bunkering, and dramatic elevation changes, providing a memorable and challenging golf experience, and will make golfers think and contemplate to the very end … so come prepared.
