Foxfire Resort & Golf Club – Grey Fox Course

Foxfire Resort & Golf Club – Grey Fox Course

Nestled in the heart of the Southern Pines and Pinehurst area, Foxfire Resort & Golf Club offers two distinct 18-hole golf courses, providing golfers with a diverse and fulfilling experience. Both layouts were designed by famed architect Gene Hamm, who constructed each to take advantage of the land’s rolling hills, soft sandy soils and plentiful lakes. Named Red Fox and Grey Fox, both Hamm designs have their own unique characteristics and challenges.

The Grey Fox at Foxfire Resort & Golf Club course presents a modern design, incorporating wider fairways, large, elevated greens, and water hazards that emphasizes precise shot-making. A hilly terrain with several doglegs cutting through the towering pines makes a playable challenge. Golfers must avoid the sand on the well-bunkered layout and position the ball on the proper side of the fairway so that they get the best approach angle to the small greens. This course is a must-play if you enjoy a challenging golf experience.

The most scenic holes — Nos. 9 , 12 and 13 — require well-placed tee shots with demanding approaches to multi-tiered greens that are slightly smaller than the opening holes. The Grey Fox course is on the rise to be a favorite among locals and visitors alike.

The resort’s amenities extend beyond golf. A well-appointed clubhouse features a pro shop stocked with golfing essentials and fashionable attire, while the clubhouse restaurant offers a selection of dishes to satisfy every palate.
